Electrolysis
Electrolysis is a permanent form of removing unwanted hair that is carried out by a highly trained aesthetician. A negative electrical current is passed down a probe that is inserted into the hair follicle to destroy its potential of re-growth.
A very fine probe is slid into the hair follicle at the surface of the skin, your therapist then releases an electrical current that then destroys the growth centre of the hair, the hair is then removed with no resistance as it just slides out with tweezers.
Unwanted hair is usually caused by normal systemic changes such as puberty, pregnancy and the menopause. Anytime there is a hormonal change in a women’s body, there can be an influx of hair growth. A glandular imbalance, your hereditary factors and some medications along with stress can play a major part in the production of unwanted hair.
A full medical history must be filled out prior to any commencement of treatment, as that it is vital your therapist has understanding of the cause of the unwanted hair growth.
Electrolysis requires a course of treatments over a period of time to gain your end result permanent removal of the unwanted hair, this is due to the fact the hair goes through many stages before it is visible on the surface, and we can only treat what we can see.

A good programme of hygienic homecare will avoid any spots or minor infections that can occur. It is important for you to remember to take extra care of the treated area, especially within the first 36/48 hours therefore giving the skin a chance to settle and allow it to return to normal.
Sterex after care will be applied to the treated area immediately, this will not only soothe your skin it will also prevent any infection of the treated follicles which will be more prone to infection after the hairs have been removed. The after product that your therapist puts on your skin must be left undisturbed for at least 24 hours.
